The Department of History and Archaeology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens invites
postgraduate researchers from all disciplines of Cypriot archaeology and culture to submit their papers for the
20th Meeting of Postgraduate Cypriot Archaeology (PoCA). The meeting will take place on the 1–3 December 2023.
It will be a hybrid event with both on–line and on–site presentations.
PoCA aims to bring together Master’s graduates, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers who have obtained their PhDs
within the last six years in a pleasant environment to present their research, meet colleagues who work in the same domain
and exchange ideas and insights.
Participation in the conference is free for both on–site and on–line presentations. Participants who attend in person will, however,
need to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
All interested researchers are kindly requested to send their paper proposals, including the name and affiliation of the author(s),
address, telephone number, title and an abstract of no more than 250 words, as well as their preference for on–site or on–line
presentation, to poca2023@arch.uoa.gr no later than the 15th of June 2023. Presentations should not exceed 20 minutes and will
be followed by 10 minutes of discussion. The conference language is English.
Please note that papers reporting on excavations or finds from excavations undertaken after 1974 in areas not under the effective
control of the Republic of Cyprus will not be accepted.
We intend to publish the papers presented at the Meeting. All submissions will, however, be subject to peer review. Further
information about the publication will be given during the meeting.
We look forward to welcoming you in Athens!
